I have an original U87 back in the U.K. but I’m now living in Texas. I bought the Dachmann so I could record vocals here and it’s an excellent alternative. In some ways an improvement on the original as it has more edge and presence. For the price it’s amazing.

I have never had a U87.But the sound on this mic is amazing!!

Wow ! Im truly Amazed . Let me start by saying the mic is very well built and its high quality . It has that vintage sound and has just enough saturation from the transformer . My deep voice sounds so good recording vocals ! This mic sounds way better then my U87ai ! IMO ! This is Truly an End Game microphone ! the Dachman is just wow ! No self noise , very quite , the Da87i sounds phenomenal ! The tone is just like my Nuemann but better . This is how good the DA87i sounds ! to get this kinda Quality your gona spend thousands. Unless you buy a DA87i ! Seriously , im not kiddin ! My Mic searchin days are over ! The DA87i is all i need . Thank you Dachman !
