Yes. It's great.

So back when I started my voiceover career fulltime, I built out a nice home studio and purchased a used 1982 U87i from Vintage King. Over the years I've bought and sold loads of mics, always chasing a larger-than-life tonality, not realizing at the time that in voiceover, the name of the game (for most VO categories) is a relatively neutral capture and realism. Listening back to old recordings with the Neumann 87i through an ISA 430, I've longed to get recapture that same feeling. Since my Neumann has been long gone since, and these days vintage 87s (never mind in great condition) would set me back several mortgage payments, I figured that was that. Yes, plenty of "vintage 87" clones on the market and I've tried quite a few, but plugging into the Dachman 87i gave me the feeling I've been missing all these years. It's me, but elevated. The modern U87ai is a standard in the VO world for a reason, and it's excellent, but I feel they are just a tad too "pointy" for my tastes. This Dachman has exactly the right rich, mid-forward Neumann character but be a bit more "relaxed" in the troublesome upper-mids...just like my beloved 87i from years back. This thing takes EQ beautifully. Thanks to Dachman for making top quality instruments at an unbelievable price!

The mic is great. Take advantage of the buy one get the other 1/2 price from selected models. It sounds very different than my Neumann TM103 yet I am very satisfied at the affordability and overall quality of the mic itself. Sturdy housing and crystal clear tone. No extra colour and no bass roll off. My lower voice sounded amazing with no EQ. Make certain you check the box for $100 off before you check out because that option won't be there. IF THERE IS A SALE RIGHT NOW TAKE ADVANTAGE. 100%

Male and Female Vocal

Bought this mic to replace another 87 clone. The Dachman has higher output level than the mic I replace, which I definitely like. I have only used it twice, once on a male vocal and once on a female vocal. Thought it was a little bright on the female vocal, but with no sibilance. Very happy with the Dachman.

Our studio bought one, used it for 2 days, and bought a second one. I'm not a fan of the new (N) U87s, but these mics are solid in both build quality and sonic signature. The top is pleasing without being overly hyped and harsh. Thank you for a fine microphone!

Game changer

Got it to compliment my now 3 up my game mics, this DA 87i, a WA251, & AT 4050. The DA 87i is a very rock sounding mic that provides a voice that I hadn't been getting with my previous mics easily. It seems sturdily built & works well with my preamps. Compared to my previous although good mics like AT 2020 & MXL 67i & even my NADY 1050, they are V6 Compared to the DA87i Shelby GT 500
