Thanks to the K87SE mic capsule at its core, the DA 87SE delivers the unmistakeable sound of history’s most legendary studio microphone.

The K87SE is made from all-brass backplates and imported gold-sputtered Mylar for authentic vintage performance complete with warm lows and silky smooth highs.

Vintage circuit

The DA 87SE uses the same 87 style circuit as our renowned DA 87i — without the additional switches for variable pickup patterns, low-cut, and 10dB pad.

And just like the DA 87i, the 87SE uses high quality materials and components, including Panasonic FC capacitors, WIMA capacitors, polystyrene capacitors, and tight-tolerance resistors.

Custom transformer

Our all-new DA-BV13 output transformer was developed specifically for our DA 87i and 87SE circuits. With a high nickel core and historically accurate 9.5:1 winding, the DA-BV13 delivers the exceptional bandwidth and low-phase shift you want in a world class microphone.

Delighted with this mic

Ok, the mic is awesome. Just awesome. For those seeking an 87 that won’t break the bank but will pull well beyond its weight, you can’t get much better than the DA87SE. I do wish it came in a case and with a shockmount, but the microphone itself is a certified bad ass. From shimmering acoustic guitar to velvety vocals, this could be my new favorite go to for my small studio.

Still waiting.

16 days and no product yet. Their choice of shipping doesn’t provide accurate tracking. I have no idea when I will receive my microphone. I expect better for this price.

We shipped your order in less than 24 hours. You should have received tracking information for it. In looking up your tracking number, it appears things have taken about a week longer than they normally do via a handoff that has to occur between Globegistics and USPS for this international shipment to Canada. Our free shipping option typically takes anywhere from 10 to 20 days for international shipments. Usually it's closer to 10, but this time it appears to be taking a little bit longer. Sorry you've had to wait a few days beyond your expectations. We do have options available for expedited shipping in the future.

Great Mic!

I've never had the pleasure of using an 87, but this is a great sounding mic for my vocals. It has the warmth and thickness I've been chasing for a decade. Takes EQ and compression beautifully, and I feel like I almost don't have to mix to get it to sound good and sit in the mix well. Zero complaints--incredible value.

Incredible Microphone

Really incredible, I bought a pair of the 87SE’s and blown away. I have a Neumann 87 and did a shoot out… couldn’t tell the difference.
